For New York City's newest governmental facility - namely, the 311 Call Center - GKV Architects designed large backlit ceiling clouds for both ambient lighting and acoustical treatment.

Newmat was called upon to create this concept by combining 6'x6' translucent panels suspended by a custom aluminum grid. These double-layered panels consist of microperforated translucent and clear membranes with powder-coated ghost tube perimeter extrusions and torsion springs for easy accessibility.
